Who am I?

Hello! I'm Iona ( pronounced eye + own + a hence my brand name) the London based designer and illustrator behind eyeownadesign. I'm a mum of two little ones who (when I’m not designing!) can be found pursuing my other passions of travel and spending time with my friends and loved ones. Since completing my degree in Design for Digital Media, I’ve spent the last 14+ years working as a Graphic Designer. I finally took the plunge and launched my own range of products starting with greeting cards in 2018. It was scary putting my own designs into the world but thankfully you all seem to like them!

MY STORY SO FAR
Greeting cards have always been a particular passion of mine and I've collected them since I was a child. Giving a hand written card is almost a gift in itself, choosing a design the receiver will love, penning something personal, placing it concealed in an envelope so it’s like unwrapping a present. It is such a heartfelt way to connect with friends and family, and offers a personal touch, in an oversaturated digital world. It was always my dream to design my own range and see them stocked in shops. Since launching I have expanded into art prints, stationery and gift boxes and I'm loving how my small business is evolving.

MY BRAND ETHOS
The core of eyeownadesign is to help people reconnect in an oversaturated digital world, be it with yourself or loved ones. Everything you can buy on my site has been thoughtfully and originally designed and illustrated by me to help you do this. I work with a range of mediums including pencil, ink and water colours, but also utilise digital illustration using Pro Create too. The stock I use for my products has been carefully chosen with quality in mind, to add a luxury feel and delight the senses. Putting pen to paper is proven to aid mindfulness and help ground you again. ‘Make time to write’, has become a signature saying for my brand and something I hope to encourage you to do, be it to write in a notepad or journal to help organise your thoughts, or in a card to a loved one.
